About Me and My Blog

I started this blog to share with you some things about me and my life in Redding as a Real Estate Broker. This way you know what kind of a person I am, as well as some things I may think of as interesting going on here in the Real Estate Marketplace of Shasta County. I also include some hopefully, helpful hints about buying and selling your home. I have been in Real Estate since the beginning of this century - which makes me sound kinda old but also experienced - which I am - experienced, not old... to me. Let me tell you how it all began... Condensed version of course....

I have Children...four of them, also many others that I did not give birth to but love, nonetheless.  Flashback to Christmas season 1998, I was working retail. Managing a luggage store in a busy mall. I worked 80+hrs each of the four weeks leading up to Christmas (no overtime). My husband had to do all the Christmas shopping. Of course we made all major purchase decisions together. Well, Santa came that Christmas Eve night and the children were all snuggly in their beds. I stayed up wrapping the few gifts I had managed to purchase on my own, signed them and snuck them under the tree. Upon waking Christmas morning, my son, who was 5-6 at the time was digging furiously under the tree throwing all the presents he came in contact with aside. I say "Hey Buddy! You just threw out 3 presents of your own outta there." You know what he said?... He said "I'm looking for the one from You, Mommy." I had not signed any of his presents. At 5 years old he knew my handwriting. I hadn't gotten him anything myself. I had forgotten my most adorable little boy. Wow. Talk about feeling like CA-CA. I played it off but I knew, and I'm pretty sure in his heart, he knew and knows.

I decided to get my Real Estate License - my mother suggested it. She had hers when we lived in Hawaii and she said it was the best job she ever had. Her time was finally flexible. She had fun.

I've never regretted it. I have, with the exception of two years when I had a personal crisis, made every baseball game, scout meeting, track meet, endless rehearsals and competitions. I put my oldest daughter through college myself. I spent the last 4 months of my mothers life beside her, everyday. I have never been rich in a financial way, although some times were better than others. My balance in life was restored. That's all that's important in the end.

I moved to Redding in 2010 and started over here. Its challenging and slow going sometimes, but the rewards are endless. The kids are older now moving on with their own lives and I am regrouping and adjusting to the life of the empty nester.

When I start to feel low and doubt myself, I have this page to remind me why I love this business more than any other business. Ingrid Hall Coldwell Banker C&C Properties Redding, CA BRE# 01274720
